Reuben's Birthday

15th of March, 2009. It’s my birthday and I had a small party. I had my Grandparent, Aunts and Uncles and cousins as well as the Gittin, Eigel and Brown clans. We had a BBQ lunch and my Uncle Andrew and Daddy cooked. I opened (attempted) lots of presents and then had some birthday cake. Yummy!

Family Update 2008

G'Day,

Gosh, we are well and truely passed Christmas 2008 and I'm only just getting around to adding some new photo's (I started this in mid January).

We had a jam packed 2008 between doing some bathroom reno's, delivering and caring for Reuben, part-time work for Kerri and other minor house improvements. It has been an interesting experience becoming parents, but we have loved every minute (well, except the sleepless nights which seem to be coming to an end).

Philip – Besides becoming a father Philip has kept himself busy with Boy’s Brigade events through out the year. After 4 years working for Christian Harvest Products Philip finished up at the end of January to get back into warehousing. He has managed to get a casual position with Southern Cross Educational Suppliers however the length of his time there is unknown at this stage. We would appreciate your prayers about future job prospects and more stable work.

Kerri – I became a mother at the beginning of 2008 and our world is never going to be the same again. I’ve enjoyed becoming a mum even with its trials. Reuben’s been a pretty relax baby. I started back at work in January of 2009 two days a week. I’ve enjoyed being back at work to some degree but miss the little fella during the day and can’t wait to get away to pick him up from day care.

Reuben – Hit the world with a bang and hasn’t slowed down since. He is a lively boy with a fairly good temperament. Although lately he is starting to live up to the red hair stereotype. He knows how to throw a good paddy. He enjoyed his first Christmas and made out like a bandit. He got clothes, a Thomas the Tank Engine set and lots of other little toys. He is enjoying day care and has already brought home a finger painting.

Bathroom Project

One of the DIY projects we've been doing since moving to Enid St is our bathroom. I'm pleased to announce that the project is about 98% finished with just a coat of paint on the ceiling and a piece of architraving strip to be fixed.
Unfortunately I can't find my before shot of the original bathroom but as you can see from the progress shots, it wasn't very nice.

Removing old tiles and taking old bath out. Kerri did the tile removal and Philip and Kerri's dad did the bath removal.

After the boys fitted the new bath, Kerri and her mum retiled the bath/shower area.

Several months later we got around to tiling the floor also.

This is our 98% finished bathroom

Holidays

Hi Again,

We recently had our first holiday as a family. We went to Tallebudgera Caravan park at Palm beach on the Gold Coast. Reuben enjoyed playing in the sand (and eating it) while Mummy and Daddy relaxed away from the daily grind. We borrowed Philip's sister's caravan and had a grand old time. Above are some photo's of our time away.

Thunderbirds are Go!

Yep, one day they'll let me out of this thing, but boy is it fun. I can't figure out why I get into trouble when I do this on my mum.

Doulos Visit

Hi Again,

Philip, Reuben and I along with Ros and her girls went to visit the OM ship The Doulos when she came to town. What a interesting tour. The ship is a floating Bookstore (amongst other things). If you want to check out what OM (Operation Mobilisation) is all about go to the following address http://www.om.org.au/ or http://www.om.org/
